The T-Course (technical course) is part of the Studienkolleg and is designed for students who plan to study a technical, mathematical or natural science subject at a German university. The course prepares students for academic subject content as well as the specific technical vocabulary used at universities.
The T-Course consists of 36 teaching units per week. Subjects include German (16 units), Mathematics (8 units), Physics (8 units) and Chemistry (4 units). The course content corresponds to the level of the German upper secondary school and is aligned with the chosen field of study.
The final examination consists of a written and an oral part. Written examinations are held in German, Mathematics and Physics. The oral examination takes place in Chemistry. Students receive preparation time before the oral exam.
To participate in the T-Course, applicants must submit an application. After successful review of the documents and payment of the course fee, a place in the course is secured. Due to limited availability, early application is strongly recommended.
